"Art that is visionary, ecstatic, ominous, highly romantic ...Even Van Gogh... would have been surprised at (her paintings') breadth of execution."

Landscapes, acrylics. "When we returned to our home state, Arizona, we rented a cottage in the small town of Cave Creek, north of Phoenix, which overlooked a wide desert wash, north to mountains edging the Tonto National Forest. Thrilled to be back, beginning a new life, I raced outside at dawn as a storm was receding. The clouds parted and the sun rose in the center. To me, it was a symbol of rebirth and hope. Later, I realized I had unconsciously stylized the clouds into a pelvis shape. Colors seem like music to me. I wanted the gradating colors at the horizon to be like a chord, or hymn."
