Landscapes: Double Rainbow

"They are overwhelmingly powerful pictures... When she paints, she makes intuitive and spontaneous decisions. She considers herself to be a vehicle for the expression of nature's spiritual presence."

Landscapes, acrylics. "I painted this painting on a fiercely windy day when a storm was clearing on the farm in New York. Again, looking west, my favorite scene. I wanted a wild, zooming feeling, a feeling of space. I painted the mountains dwarfed, and road swiftly diminishing to a pin-point at the horizon, the clouds blowing, trees bent, movement. The rainbow and edge of a cloud created a huge eye shape, an oval like a swirling vortex in the middle. Tendrils of clouds in the upper corners were like fingers. The entire sky was filled with anthropomorphic shapes."
