"In 'Sun Shafts,' I liked the way the light dissolved the outlines of foliage and the diagonals of the sunrays contrasting with the opposite diagonals of the tree trunks. In 'Rainbow,' I was drawn to the dark colors of storms in New York. These clouds seemed to be collapsing onto themselves."
