Landscapes: Farmland Sunburst
Acrylics, landscapes. "This painting looks west. We rented a house in New York on a 240-acre working dairy farm. This lane was our driveway. I painted this scene over and over watching the sun go down, leaning my canvases against our van or flat on the ground. In this painting, I wanted a tranquil radiance. In numerous other paintings at this site, moods of the day inspired me to stylize, emphasize and, at times, use the reality of the scene as a starting point, allowing my imagination to amplify the feeling of wind, movement and a mythic quality I always felt there. The same scene is in Sun Rays I and II, Pastorale, Sun Through Clouds, Red Sky, and Double Rainbow."
