Paintings of black dogs. "Again, beauty and expressiveness are the keys. Even paint tubes are beautiful in form and color. All things are beautiful. Or, if not overtly beautiful, significant. Only the tackiest manufactures of man are ugly in their meaninglessness. The paint tubes seem to radiate from Berry and the golden tab of her collar. The cloth is another favorite of mine, with birds and floral tendrils. Instead of a sky of my own invention, I incorporate Van Gogh's 'Starry Night,' his famous mystical statement of immortality. The artist said he saw the stars like the black dots on a map of France. As we take a train to reach a town, death is the vehicle to travel to a star."
