The Sky Above St. Francis Cathedral In Santa Fe
...A Poem

On the playing field of blue,
some clouds are victors,
others meet defeat.

Muscled giants
advance and swell;
fissured brethren
slowly twist away;
ephemeral fragments,
toppled from the main,
melt into immensity.

Like the final tone
of the Cathedral bell
at three o'clock,
it's hard to tell
when sound and cloud
meld with eternity.
